Gold miner�AuRico Gold (NYSE: AUQ  ) announced today�its second-quarter dividend of $0.04 per share, the second dividend payment it's made since initiating the program earlier this year.�The board of directors said the quarterly dividend is payable on July 29 to the holders of record at the close of business on July 15.�

As the gold miner previously announced, the payout for 2013 is expected to annualize at $0.16 per share, but beginning next year�the quarterly dividend will be linked to AuRico's operating cash flow, whereby it intends to pay out 20% of the OCF generated in the preceding quarter divided by the number of outstanding shares at the time the dividend is approved. Dividend payments are expected to be paid within three to four weeks following the release of AuRico's financial statements.

Also, beginning with the current dividend payment, investors can�participate in a dividend reinvestment plan.

As noted, the regular dividend payment equates to a $0.16-per-share annual dividend, yielding 3.7% based on the closing price of AuRico Gold's stock on July 2.

    Earlier this year the giant food processor, Cargill, partnered with the small Swiss company, Evolva (SIX:EVE), which was developing its own stevia-based fermentation process, also in the pilot stage. As noted earlier in the article, Cargill is in a partnership with Coca-Cola for Truvia, the bestselling stevia product on the market. The success of the Cargill/Evolva partnership could have big implications not just for Cargill and Coca-Cola, but also on the entire stevia and sweetener market. I further believe the success of the partnership could have a major impact on Stevia First. If Cargill�� fermentation method produces a better tasting stevia product at a lower cost it would give Coca-Cola a considerable advantage over the other beverage bottlers, food manufacturers, and stevia producers. Such an outcome would force these companies to scramble to find a similar method in order to compete.     Coach (COH) has plunged 27% this year after dropping 12% last week. Still, Wedbush’s Corinna Freedman thinks now is a perfect time to downgrade the beaten-down luxury retailers shares. The reason: It’s going to get worse before it gets better for Coach. She explains:

    Following the comprehensive Analyst meeting held last week in New York City (COH�� first in seven years,) we are downgrading our rating on share of COH to UNDERPERFORM from NEUTRAL as we have incremental concerns about the company�� turnaround plans and while we do find some incremental positives and while we continue to hold out hope that marketing plans will be compelling, we believe the shares are likely to remain under pressure for the balance of the year. We believe it remains to be seen whether COH will be successful in changing brand perception and although its strategic initiatives touching product, marketing and stores are dramatic and bold, we are concerned about the lack of testing and ultimately customer acceptance in the near-term. We believe a more conservative stance for beyond fiscal 2015 (relative to management�� long-term goals) is warranted and as such, we believe valuation is likely to further compress. Though some may argue that the guidance is ��itchen sinked,��and somewhat de-risked, we believe that beating very conservative guidance by any magnitude, still indicates a brand in decline as the difference between guidance of a -27 – 29% North American retail comp and reporting a -20% comp may not ultimately be relevant given the continued hemorrhaging of market share. Though the timeline has been drastically extended and tangible results of the turnaround may not be evident until 2H15, a flat dividend (we do not expect any increase in FY15 or FY16) and declining in free cash flow may not be enough to satisfy longer-term holders.

    What do Quest Diagnostics Inc. (NYSE:DGX) and Affymetrix, Inc. (NASDAQ:AFFX) know that the rest of the healthcare industry doesn't seem to know yet? In simplest terms, AFFX and DGX seem to have come to grips with the reality that there's so much information out there in the diagnostic and treatment world that caregivers are actually stumbling over it. The end result is not only care that's not better than it was in the recent past, but perhaps less effective than it used to be simply because of information overload and/or a lack of understanding of what to do with all sorts of data.

    They say you're known by the caliber of company you keep. If that's true for stocks (and it is), then CollabRx Inc. (NASDAQ:CLRX) has a lot to be proud of with its new partnership with Affymetrix, Inc. (NASDAQ:AFFX). On the flipside, Affymetrix should be honored it's inked a deal with CollabRx. In a combination that hasn't been topped since peanut butter and chocolate hooked up to form a Reese's cup, AFFX and CLRX help bring out the best in each other.
